MMP Books and More in the New Lovecraftian Story Bundle!

0

We here at MMP HQ know that discerning Migraineers like a certain je ne sais quoi vis a vis your Weird Fiction! It has to push boundaries, must strain at the gates of innovation, and above all, entertain in ways that your standard Lovecraftian narrative simply can’t! (This is the 21st Century, after all.) Which is why we’re very pleased to announce our humble inclusion in the new weird fiction bundle from StoryBundle! It’s curated by Nick Mamatas (’nuff said!) and features some of the best groundbreaking authors around, many of whom have appeared in MMP books. Six books in the Basic StoryBundle, and another six in the Bonus StoryBundle that riff on the themes in the Basic! We could go on (and will, over the course of the next couple of weeks) but this is a LIMITED TIME OFFER and we’d rather you not waste time listening to us jaw on! Instead, here’s Curator Nick Mamatas with the skinny! Links to purchase below as well!

The Lovecraft Bundle

curated by Nick Mamatas

H. P. Lovecraft is undoubtedly one of the most influential writers of the pulp era, leaving an indelible mark on the last hundred years of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Not only is Lovecraft a central element of genre fiction today, he has ascended to the heights of mainstream literature, thanks to editions of his stories published by the definitive Penguin Classics and Library of America lines. Lovecraft was also a cult writer whose themes were explored in underground comics, in rock music, film, and fine art. And this all while being the sort of racist, anti-Semite, and homophobe that would exclude him from dinner parties…even during his own era.

For a long time, Lovecraft’s mantle was carried in the small press, where slavish pastiche and careful avoidance of his politics were rules to be carefully followed. These days, however, Lovecraftian fiction is wider and more diverse. His themes and voice are being remixed, detourned, and exploded by a new generation of writers, and his distasteful opinions critiqued and parodied. This Lovecraftian Literature bundle explores the Lovecraftian idiom in a diversity of ways, from intense erotica to beat literature, from neo-pulp fun to theological exegesis.

Among the goodies in this bundle is the World Fantasy Award-winning anthology of She Walks in Shadows edited by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, a bundle-exclusive collection Home from the Sea by pulp master William Meikle, the Pynchonesque (!) Lovecraftian military thriller duology Radiant Dawn/Ravenous Dusk by Cody Goodfellow, a real-life attempt at “keeping it R’lyeh” by examining the metaphysics of Lovecraft’s vision of the universe by Scott R Jones…and a whole lot more!

And StoryBundle’s a cool form of alternative publishing, letting indie and small press authors join together to present bundles that pack a whole lot of reading into a price that you choose (as long as it’s $5 or above). For that $5 you get the basic bundle of six books in any ebook format. $15 (or more if you want to support the writers even further) gets you the bonus books as well.

The initial titles in the Lovecraft Bundle (minimum $5 to purchase) are:

  • When The Stars Are Right by Scott R Jones
  • RESONATOR: New Lovecraftian Tales From Beyond edited by Scott R Jones
  • Gateways to Abomination by Matthew M. Bartlett
  • Sword and Mythos by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
  • The Nickronomicon by Nick Mamatas
  • Radiant Dawn by Cody Goodfellow

If you pay more than the bonus price of just $15, you get all six of the regular titles, plus SIX more!

  • Home From the Sea by William Meikle
  • Priestess: The Collected Blackstone Erotica by Justine Geoffrey
  • Cthulhusattva: Tales of the Black Gnosis edited by Scott R Jones

PRIESTESS in Paperback!

0

PRIESTESS_frontcover_01It’s been a pet project of ours for some time, here at MMP HQ: getting the Collected BLACKSTONE Erotica series (by our own Justine Geoffrey, natch!) into some kind of physical form. We can all agree that, for some, weird smut holds a special frisson for the connoisseur when it can be secreted away in a trench coat pocket or small purse, or slipped into the drawer of a bedside table for late-night sessions. Certainly our own memories of shoplifting copies of Penthouse FORUM from the Coles Books down at the mall loom large in our remembrance of all things teenage and rebellious! So, the print edition of PRIESTESS: The Collected BLACKSTONE Erotica would have to fulfill certain criteria: it would have to be small (a true pocketbook), the cover would need a certain gloss, and the contents and formatting would require… well, let’s just say our book block design droids were charged with a mandate best summed up as “round, firm, and fully packed”! In other words, different from our other print endeavours.

We’re happy to say we’ve succeeded: this is a juicy and thoroughly smutty little tome! And here it is, ready for order direct from MMP, or from most fine online retailers! PRIESTESS is only $8.99CAD + delivery

If you’re Canadian (and congratulations if you are!)
you can order PRIESTESS HERE (8.99 + 3.50CAD shipping & handling)

If you’re American (brave! free! delightfully weird!)
you can order PRIESTESS HERE (8.99 + 8.00CAD shipping & handling)

If you live anywhere else on this bizarre spinning mudspeck,
you can order PRIESTESS HERE (8.99 + 16.00CAD shipping & handling)

PRIESTESS is of course also available to order from other fine online retailers such as Amazon and Barnes&Noble!

“… the best entertainment I’ve had in ages… f**king magnificent… sublime!” — BDSM Book Reviews

This collection brings together the first four BLACKSTONE Erotica books from Justine Geoffrey and Martian Migraine Press: RED MONOLITH FRENZY, GREEN FEVER DREAM, ‘Summonings: Anicka & Kamil’ and ‘Summonings: Yvette’s Interview’ in the order in which the story occurs. Follow a novice Priestess of the Black Stone as she calls up prehistoric sex-gods in the mountains of Eastern Europe, gathers power and partners in the glitzy dungeons of London’s BDSM scene, and mates with monsters in subterranean chambers of lust and horror! Learn the backstory of her friends, lovers, and enemies! This volume also contains excerpts from Blackstone Book 3, YELLOW SIGN BOUND, and the sci-fi gonzo-erotica ‘Orgy in the Valley of the Lust Larvae’. PRIESTESS: The Collected Blackstone Erotica. Transgressive, bizarre sexuality, night-black humour, and cosmic horror! Open yourself to the perverted supernatural world of Justine Geoffrey!

“Like Edward Lee, Justine Geoffrey pushes the limits of explicit sexuality … Blackstone currently represents the most creative and ambitious Mythos erotica.”– Bobby Derie, author of Sex and the Cthulhu Mythos

NECRONOMICUM Issue 3 ToC

0

NECRONOMICUM Issue #3 is coming soon! We have a mid-July release date, and editors Justine Geoffrey and Scott R Jones are currently working with our authors on the utterly pleasant task of editing the fine stories they’ve selected, dripping with aphrodisiac ichor, from the Sploosh Pool. Really, this is the part we enjoy the most, putting the magazine together. When it’s all ours, and no one else can see it yet, and the thrill of secrecy is almost too tangible. But even this glorious pleasure must pass, and to that end, we’d like to announce the Table of Contents for the third issue of NECRONOMICUM!

The Night Stair by Stanley Webb – this is a freakish little tale of nuns and necromancy, forbidden heavens and fornicating harpies. Good times!

The Acquisition by Moxie Marcus – the gentlemen knew his wife wanted the prize dearly… but is he ready to submit to a force from beyond his comprehension to get it for her?

Something She Can Touch by Kurt Newton – an almost sweet (almost!) story of lust and loss

The Lion’s Jaw by Alice Renard – Renard’s poetry appeared in our inaugural issue, and we’re happy to have her back now with a wonderful piece of erotic prose about a transhumanist sex-circus of the future, where boundaries dissolve like mist and people open up to their deepest desires.

… but it’s not all transcendence and beautiful language in these pages. Witness the steaming horrors of a teenage tryst gone weirdly wrong, in Scabs, a grim and gritty tale by the thoroughly depraved Ben Djarum.

Dead Man’s Porn by Roger Leatherwood – a master of the surreal and taboo, Leatherwood spins a story of Science and Kink run amok!

With poetry by Mark Mills (The Gods of Solitude), K A Opperman (The Black Czarina), and Clare Castleberry (Love), cover art by Garry Mac, and of course a cheeky editorial missive from our own Justine G, we’re sure you’ll find something to enjoy in the pages of NECRONOMICUM #3! (You can keep it a secret, if you like… but we won’t tell if you don’t!) Keep watching this space for release dates and links to purchase!
