The kinky folk over at BDSM Book Reviews have just posted a review of our own Justine G‘s RED MONOLITH FRENZY, the first book in her BLACKSTONE Erotica series, and people, it’s what you’d call glowing. The reviewer (who we’re suddenly extremely fond of) called RED MONOLITH FRENZY “fucking magnificent” and “sublime” before going on to say…
“This is the best entertainment I’ve had in ages that did not involve booze, polyhedral dice, renfaire wenches, and/or my hideously deformed cat. That is really saying something,because when I break out the polyhedral dice and the wenches, shit gets real. I don’t know if I have ever laughed this hard at porn that was trying to be funny. (I’ve laughed almost to the point of throwing up over unintentionally bad porn, but this is absolutely not unintentional or bad.)”
Y’know, we’re not sure if funny was what Justine was shooting for, but we’ll take it! (Actually, we lie… humour is definitely part of the BLACKSTONE DNA!)

ONEIROS, Sparlock Submission News

Hey Migraine-ers! (Migraineers? Migs? Eh, we’ll sort that out later…) Some bad news and less-bad news for you today.
Bad news: we’ve had to close the submission process for ONEIROS Dream Journal, as interest has not been sufficient to support the creation of anything close to the kind and size of publication that we’d like to put out there. Maybe we’ll try again with it later, once the MMP audience has grown a bit, but for now, ONEIROS will have to go back to sleep. It was a fitful waking, in any case. Thanks to everyone who did submit their dream-stuff for the journal; sorry we couldn’t make it work for you and please feel under no obligation to MMP! Which is to say, your work is your work, and get it out there to other projects.
The less-bad news: Sparlock the Warrior Wizard is seeing similarly low interest in his Chronicles, which, frankly, surprises the hell out of us, considering his origins and the high creativity of his supporters BUT we are pressing on with this collection! Submissions for The Chronicles of Sparlock will be staying open until the end of September 2012! This will give us enough time to edit, design and prep the book in time for publication by, yes, Halloween! An appropriate release date, all things considered. In other news, MMP author Justine G is nearly done writing Book Two of her BLACKSTONE weird erotica series. “I just need to get the girls out of that fetish club and into the orgone chamber,” she teases. OK, Justine! Expect GREEN FEVER DREAM to be available for purchase by the end of July, if not sooner (stay tuned to our twitter feed and this site for updates), and doubly-expect a free promotion or two in the days leading up to and surrounding this creepy-fun release!

Our author S R Jones recently wrote a review of Alan Moore’s NEONOMICON for the fine folks at the Lovecraft eZine. You can go read it here (and while you’re there, check out the eldritch coolness they’ve got going on!) and we’re sure you’ll agree that Jones? He wasn’t too fond of it, no, but mostly for reasons of promises unmet.
Not so these discerning readers from South Carolina. Make sure to check out the video at the bottom, folks, then come back here…
Sure, an awful book in many ways, but pulling NEONOMICON from the library? That’s just stupid. Better pull 50 Shades of Grey from the shelves while you’re at it, folks, because we’re pretty sure most kids could auto-checkout that book with ease. All it takes is a card.
Listen, we’re sorry, but there’s a reason NEONOMICON is in the graphic novels section, and not in the kiddie comic book section. And yes, there is a difference between the sections. Or at least there are up here in Canada. At our local branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library, the two different “funny book” sections are actually on opposite ends of the building! This ‘ratings system’ thing they’re contemplating is pure bunk and so on and so forth and… we just get so tired of this!
Basically? Parents: monitor the reading material your kids bring home if you’re worried about how they’ll take it. Or really (and let’s just be honest here) how you’ll take it.
We thought people knew this stuff by now.
