As the planet tilts toward Solstice, and our sobriety slides south towards more inebriated climes, our hearts and thoughts turn towards matters spiritual, if we’ve that particular bent in our psyches. And we trust that most if not all Migraineers are, indeed, so bent. So bent! To that end, may we present, fresh from the molten graphics forge of the MMP DesignDroid5000, the cover to Scott R Jones’ When The Stars Are Right: Towards An Authentic R’lyehian Spirituality …
Sparkly enough? Gosh, we sure think so. Now, originally we here at MMP HQ were hoping to have When The Stars Are Right available for sale in time for Christmas. Certainly we said as much when we announced the ToC, but due to our overwhelming desire to make this, our first print book, a quality textual interface artifact, we have pushed the release date back to March 2014, with two book launch events in the last week of March, one in Victoria BC on Monday the 24th at a yet-to-be-decided venue, and the other in Vancouver BC on Thursday the 27th at the infamous Storm Crow Tavern.
Which is all to say that, though the physical edition of the book is not yet in existence, the electronic edition IS, and ready for Advance Review Readers. So, if this is the sort of tome that floats your White Ship (nudge-nudge, wink-wink) and you would like to review When The Stars Are Right for your blog, magazine, or podcast, then please contact us at info@martianmigrainepress.com and request a copy. We’re releasing the first volume of Justine Geoffrey‘s collected Blackstone Erotica series, PRIESTESS, on Friday September 13, but we’re so tingly in our design-nethers about the cover that we’re going to give all you Migraineers (that’s what we’re calling MMP readers now, take note!) a little preview! Graphic design by the MMP DesignDroid5000 (as per usual) and artwork by none other than Jim Pavelek, whose gorgeous grotesques have graced the interiors of many a gaming manual, covers of Dark Horse Comics Eerie title, and his own Hymns and Wretched Offerings to the Golden Ones. We think this piece captures the Blackstone story at a crucial moment and drops hints of the monstrously arousing things yet to come!
PRIESTESS will contain both full Blackstone novellas, Red Monolith Frenzy and Green Fever Dream, as well as both of the Blackstone SUMMONINGS shorts, Summonings: Anicka and Kamil and Summonings: Yvette’s Interview … AND excerpts from Blackstone Book 3 Yellow Sign Bound and Justine’s sci-fi gonzo erotica novella, Orgy in the Valley of the Lust Larvae … PLUS a special essay on the weird-erotica writing experience from the lady herself! Hey perverts! Justine G here. The MMP docents have allowed me this divine moment of bandwidth to present to you the Prologue to the next Blackstone Erotica outing, continuing my sordid tale of sex and sorcery. Book 3 will be titled YELLOW SIGN BOUND and it’s full of crazed artists, possessed investigators, cursed daggers and of course, more weird couplings (triplings? grouplings?) than you can reasonably process.
Anyway, I know it’s been a while since Summonings: Yvette’s Interview and even longer since GREEN FEVER DREAM wrapped up, so I hope this tides Blackstone readers over until Book 3 comes out, which should be by September at the latest. Promise.
